About South East Coast Conveyancing

History of SECC

In 2001, South East Coast Conveyancing was established as the conveyancing arm of a successful firm of solicitors in Batemans Bay, New South Wales, with Gayle Ferrier and Cheryl Thompson (at that time known as Cheryl Batchelor) as Licensed Property Conveyancers.

In December 2005, the sole principal solicitor, Joe Smith, retired. Gayle and Cheryl purchased the conveyancing practice.

South East Coast Conveyancing continues today as a “dedicated conveyancing only” business, in its seventh independent year and going strong. With a large historical client base, Gayle and Cheryl have developed and focused the business further to it’s present status as a leading conveyancing firm in NSW. They promote high ethical standards within the legal community, and offer clients the highest level of service.

As part of their continued focus on improvement, the office has been totally renovated to a more contempory design, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere which reflects the new direction of the business.

SECC Membership of the Australian Institiute of Conveyancers

Both Gayle and Cheryl are CPC’s (that is Certified Practising Conveyancers), accredited members of the Australian Institiute of Conveyancers, NSW Division, and are licensed by NSW Govt Fair Trading. Gayle and Cheryl have Professional Indemnity Insurance administered by the AIC, NSW. Members must comply with the Code of Ethics set by the AIC, NSW Division. Conveyancers are also required to undergo continuing education every year to keep their skills and knowledge of property law up to date and to complete risk management assessments.

Systems and Technology

South East Conveyancing is committed to continuous improvement of the services we offer through the implementation of modern technology, such as our fully intergrated practise management system, resulting in fast and accurate processing of documents, communications and accounting.

Value for Money Conveyancing Service

The licensing of property conveyancers in NSW has lead to competition in the industry, and greater value for money. The best conveyancing firms are specialists in conveyancing, whether solicitor or licensed conveyancer. At SECC, either Gayle or Cheryl, licensed conveyancers and partners in the firm, are responsible for, and work directly on your matter, with support from paralegal staff. In contrast, many solicitors have other duties, and conveyancing work may be left to paralegals. At SECC you can have confidence that a fully qualified licensed conveyancer is in charge of your important transaction.
